The Role of The Family Business Circle Switzerland in Fostering Community and Innovation Among Swiss Family Businesses
About us
The Family Business Circle Switzerland was founded in 2018 in Zurich by family business entrepreneurs Alma Palo (Zug) and Ariel Sergio Davidoff (Zurich) and has flourished ever since. The name is trademark protected, and about two hundred family businesses participate in the circle. The events usually take place in the Zurich Greater Area, and many members speak Schwyzertütsch but are active in the international business arena.
The purpose of the circle is to bring senior representatives of family businesses in Switzerland together for a thought exchange on various subjects. From succession planning in the company, to inheritance planning, from successful business concepts to marketing and logistics, many subjects are discussed at the up to six events per year, under Chatham house rule.
The success of the events which are held relatively privately is due to the fact that we often visit a circle member’s premises and learn on location what they do, how they do it, how they keep in the market, how they involve the next generation or motivate management. The Family Business Circle is not for profit. All members know either Alma or Ariel and participation at an event usually carries a modest fee to cover administration and event costs.

Elevating family businesses through Family Business Circle Switzerland means the circle fosters the exchange of thoughts amongst its attendees, in order to help family businesses to learn from each other, obtain new contacts with like-minded family business owners and address challenges.
Our events are a platform for sharing knowledge, networking, and accessing expert guidance, enhancing the growth and sustainability of family-owned enterprises. And they are usually quite fun!
The Family Business Circle Switzerland addresses subjects like collaborative growth, intergenerational wealth transfer, and providing a network to navigate the unique dynamics of family-run businesses by speaking to family business owners in similar situations.
Structured Collaboration
Family businesses invite circle members to contribute with their knowledge, guided by one of our founders, Alma and Ariel, as moderators, ensuring focused and productive dialogues. Usually, we meet from 18.00-20.00 for a cocktail so that the working day is not disturbed and dinner with the family is possible.
Energy Exchange
Participation is by invitation only and carries a modest fee for administration and the event. Family businesses can contribute by attending or, of course, inviting circle members to learn from each other on their premises, thereby enhancing our Circle's diversity and strength.
Growing Together
A thriving community where all members can contribute equally to explore and resolve business challenges, fostering collective growth and learning at the informal events, which occur 4–6 times a year in the Greater Zurich Area.
