About us
The Family Business Circle Switzerland was founded in 2018 in Zurich by family business entrepreneurs Alma Palo (Zug) and Ariel Sergio Davidoff (Zurich) and has flourished ever since. The name is trademark-protected, and about two hundred family businesses participate in the circle. The events usually take place in the Zurich Greater Area, and many members speak Schwyzertütsch but are active in the international business arena.
The purpose of the circle is to bring senior representatives of family businesses in Switzerland together for a thought exchange on various subjects. From succession planning in the company, to inheritance planning, from successful business concepts to marketing and logistics, many subjects are discussed at the up to six events per year, under the Chatham House rule.
The success of the events lies in their private character. We often visit a circle member’s premises. There, we learn directly what they do and how they do it. We also see how they stay competitive in the market. In addition, we gain insight into how they engage the next generation and motivate their management.
The Family Business Circle is not for profit. All members know either Alma or Ariel. Participation in an event usually carries a modest fee to cover administration and event costs.
We are connecting Swiss family businesses for shared wisdom and growth since 2018.

The Family Business Circle Switzerland focuses on topics such as collaborative growth, intergenerational wealth transfer, and navigating the unique dynamics of family-run businesses.
Structured Collaboration
Family businesses invite circle members to share their knowledge and experiences. The discussions are guided by our founders, Alma and Ariel, who act as moderators and ensure that the dialogue remains focused and productive. Meetings usually take place from 18:00 to 20:00 with a cocktail reception, creating a relaxed atmosphere for exchange. This schedule avoids interruptions during the working day and still leaves time for dinner with the family.
Energy Exchange
Participation is by invitation only and carries a modest fee to cover administration and event expenses. Family businesses contribute by attending and by actively joining the discussions. They also enrich the Circle by inviting members to their premises, allowing participants to learn directly from one another. These contributions broaden perspectives and strengthen the diversity of the Circle, ensuring lasting value for the entire community.
